Children

At Kingston United Methodist Church, we believe that learning the “Way of Life taught by Jesus Christ” is a life-long endeavor. Part of our commitment to each other in baptism is to agree to sponsor one another in the faith and to provide support structures for life-long formation. As such, we always try to find new ways of keeping our children involved within the full life of the congregation.  We encourage children in worship, we provide educational opportunities on an ongoing basis through programs like Sunday school, and we have policies in place to ensure a safe environment for being formed in the faith.

During the school year, children’s Sunday School begins in worship.  During the service, children, 3 and up, are dismissed to Sunday School with the Sunday school teachers and are brought back into the service before the closing circle. During Sunday school they focus on a lesson for the day, sing songs, and do a craft.

For more information about educational opportunities for children, please check the church calendar or email the church office at [email protected].

For children under 5 whose parents may not want them in worship (though they are welcome), we provide nursery care every Sunday morning.
