Music

Music is a very important part of the worship experience at Kingston United Methodist Church.  Over the years, we have been blessed with many talented people to lead us in hymns and provide special music.

The church choir is a small, but enthusiastic, group that meets before church at 9 a.m. with the Music Director.  They sing during the service once or twice a month and for special occasions such as Christmas Eve.  The choir takes a break during the months of July and August.  New members are always welcome.

The gospel choir, led by Jim Carroll on his guitar, brings a touch of hand-clapping gospel music to the service during the summer months.  They also rehearse at 9 a.m. before the service during July and August.

A number of musical concerts are presented throughout the year.  The Kingston Women’s Choir, which rehearses in the church on Sunday evenings, offers two concerts a year to which the community is invited.  The New School of Music of Kingston, which also shares our building, presents student and faculty recitals throughout the academic year.  Members of the congregation and local artists also share their gifts in such evenings as our “Jazz in January” concert and “Fine Arts Night.”
