Faith

Monday’s Reflection

IN EVERY HEALING STORY [accounts in scripture of Jesus healing others], faith exists in someone. We can assume that Jesus’ activating, circumstance-changing faith in his heavenly Father’s love for all humanity permeates every healing scene. The Gospel writers do not consistently describe the faith or faithlessness of others in each case, but one fact is clear: When the person requesting help and healing was a person of faith, Jesus would express his hearty approval with a word of encouragement along with the healing. Our faith in God during times of personal trauma, tragedy, and sickness is therapeutic and gives God more to work with in the healing process.

Today’s Scripture Reading

Philippians 2:5-11

This Week: Pray for young Christians. Add your prayer to the Prayer Wall.
Tips for Your Spirit:
Praying with Eyes Open. Many of us were taught to close our eyes when we pray. Praying with icons is an ancient prayer practice that involves keeping our eyes wide open, taking into our heart what the image visually communicates. Try praying with icons.
Saints, Inc.:
This week we remember Clara Barton (April 12).
