Don’t Give Up

Friday’s Reflection

My Friend, I Hold You Close

MY FRIEND, I hold you close.
I hear your pain,
I feel your frustration.
My heart is torn in two.

The river of your life
flows over rocks,
around the obstructions
of rapids, cliffs, and roots.

Right now it’s hard to bear;
The time is yet coming;
calmed water, cooling rest.

Your faith is not in vain.
You will live true,
through splendor and sorrow.
I hold you in my heart.

Today’s Question

What friend has suffered a loss and needs an encouraging word from you? Take a few minutes to write a note or e-mail of encouragement to that friend, and remember your friend in your prayers. Share your reflections.

Today’s Scripture Reading

Psalm 118:1-29

This Week: Pray for young Christians. Add your prayer to the Prayer Wall.
Tips for Your Spirit:
Praying with Eyes Open. Many of us were taught to close our eyes when we pray. Praying with icons is an ancient prayer practice that involves keeping our eyes wide open, taking into our heart what the image visually communicates. Try praying with icons.
Saints, Inc.:
This week we remember Clara Barton (April 12).
