Experiencing Divine Intimacy

Saturday’s Reflection

SOMETIMES WHEN I READ the Bible devotionally, the text does not “speak” to me at that moment. Then I must be steadfast in the obligation to wait for God in silence and trust the Spirit to nudge me when I need to receive the words I have read. . . .
When God blesses us with divine intimacy, it is appropriate to express gratitude but not to cling to the experience of joy or try to repeat it. The God of grace does not keep a strict timetable of blessing but surprises us with loving presence when we least expect it.
