Forgive from the Heart

Sunday’s Reflection

BUT NONE OF THOSE [giving alms and other spiritual practices] is greater than to forgive from the heart [emphasis added] a sin that has been committed against you.
For it is a comparatively small thing to wish well
or even to do good to, one who wishes you ill
and does you harm when able.
This is to obey the command of God:
“Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, … and pray for those who abuse you.”

Today’s Scripture Reading

John 14:8-14

This Week: pray for for church committees, conferences, councils. Add your prayer to the Prayer Wall.
Tips for Your Spirit:
Praying with Eyes Open. Many of us were taught to close our eyes when we pray. Praying with icons is an ancient prayer practice that involves keeping our eyes wide open, taking into our heart what the image visually communicates. Try praying with icons.
Saints, Inc.:
This week we remember Anslem (May 21).
