Advice for Journaling

Thursday’s Reflection

ABANDON RIGIDITY with your journaling. There is no right or wrong way. You may find that you prefer a certain pen—how it touches the paper and how the ink flows. Or, that may not matter to you. You can start writing something and leave it in midsentence as another thought enters your mind. Perhaps that interrupting thought is more important—something urgent, needing to reveal itself on to paper. Your journal is yours. There are no grades and no teachers—except you, the practice, your journal, and the delight of what it may reveal and teach you.

Tips for Your Spirit:
Why Saints? Observing saints more closely reveals that they were ordinary people just like us. What set them apart was their life purpose. More than anything else, they wanted to know God. So despite their faults and frailties, they have much to teach us. Learn from Saints.
