Tuesday’s Reflection
IN ONE OF HIS POEMS, Wendell Berry writes about “the peace of wild things.” When the world’s trouble invades your soul and disturbs your sleep, seek out the peace of wild things. When you worry about the future for your children, go dwell where the squirrels run. Sit beside a stream where herons feed. Look at the sky and at fragrant flowers where the hummingbirds fly. Let go of worry and fear, and rest in God’s gift of creation. Seek the healing, renewing powers of places where the wild creatures dwell.
