God’s Love for Us

Wednesday’s Reflection

GOD’S LOVE FOR US mirrors the love of a parent for a child. God is proud of our accomplishments. God weeps when we stumble. God gets angry when we break the rules. God sees in us who we might become. God is our Creator, and the love of God feels very much like the love my wife and I share for our daughter.

Why else would God deliver us from evil? Or lead us away from temptation? Whey else should God send goodness and mercy chasing after us? And why do we not stop to receive them? Are we too busy for our own salvation?

Our faith in the Lord demands that we separate ourselves from the speed of our lives. When we slow down, we find still waters and a deeper connection with each other and with God.
