Loving Your Neighbor

Friday’s Reflection

GOD OF ALL PEOPLE, thank you for reminding me that running a close second to my love for you is my love for others. You have commanded me to love my neighbor as I love myself. That is not difficult to understand, because I so easily see how many ways I love myself and look after my personal welfare.

Give me your grace today to extend this kind of love to others: to the people I know and those I do not know. Especially, give me grace to love ( ).

Make me as likely to love the stranger as I am to love my dearest friends. Enable me to love those who cross my path by surprise, as well as tho who do so through the well-made plans of my day. In doing this, I bring honor to your name. And I desire to do this more than anything else in the world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
